On the new mitigation form you are given choices of Clips, Single Wraps, Double Wraps, Structural other unknown or no attic access. All turbo rater gives in Clips Single Wraps, or Double Wraps. You give no choice for structural. Structural is the best credit. Please see below what the mitigation inspector said and advise please
Roof covering is FBC compliant, level A.
Roof/deck attachment is D, reinforced concrete, the same as level C on the old form.
The roof/wall attachment is structural. I don’t know why they marked single wraps on the old form. That only applies to wood roofs. Structural is the top rating.
Finally, they do not qualify for opening protection. The answer is “X”.
I hope that helps. It sounds as if your rating software has not kept up with the form changes mandated by the state…

Unfortunately Citizen wind mit charts have not changed since 9/2008. Therefore they have not added the new options such as structural. The only option you have is to answer the best for that particular item such as Double wraps. This is what Citizens would have to do as well in their rating software. When an entry field doesn't apply to your risk, you will just need to leave the default entry. The program will not know what entry fields apply until you rate the quote.
This is what the program will look for to apply the combined wind mit credit:
- The number of stories for the building
- The Year of construction
- It then looks up the proper wind mitigation chart that indicates what items apply.
Until Citizens updates the wind mit charts in the manual to coincide with the wind mit forms, we can't change them either. |
