What does the * (asterisk) after the number in the term column mean on the Comparison screen? |
Answer / Solution |
|
Term column * indicator on the Comparison screen:
- The * (asterisk) next to the number in the Term column on the Comparison indicates a feature called Estimate Term Selected.
- This means that the term that was selected to rate may not be the term that some companies have available to rate.
- Those companies that have this indicator will display a calculated total premium on the Comparison screen equal to the term selected to rate.
- For example: An annual term is selected, but some companies only have semi-annual terms available. The total premium that will calculate for those companies is equal to 2 6-month policies.
- This will allow you to compare 2 6-month policies to an annual policy rate.
- If you do not want this feature turned on, you can turn it off by:
- Clicking on the Gear menu and selecting Preferences.
- Click on User on the left side.
- Click on Rating.
- Click on the Line of Business
- Uncheck Estimate Term Selected
- To close the screen, click on the Save button.
- When 1 of these companies that have a term indicator is selected, you will receive a warning message that the term selected is an invalid term and that the valid term will be shown.
- The Quote Breakdown screen will display the valid term available with payment plans for that term.
