How do I edit or create my own quote letter template?

How to create or modify a quote letter template:

  1. From anywhere in the program (even whether a quote is open or not), go to the Edit menu and select Edit Quote Letter Templates.
  2. Select and open the template you would like to modify.
  3. Make your modifications to the text or add additional text, then save the document.
  4. If you want to create your own template with new fields to pull in from the quote or want to name it something else:
    • Click on the link at the bottom of this page to get a list of field tags to use in your letter.
        • NOTE:  All field tag names must begin and end with a bracket [  ].
    • Open an exising template and make your changes to the text, insert fields that you want to include, and add any header or footers to the document.
    • Then go to the File menu and select Save As.
    • Type over the existing name of the file in the File name field with whatever you want to call it.  The default displayed location in the Save in field should be the Templates folder (a full path example, if you clicked in the dropdown list: C:\ITC\XXCMP\QLetters\Template - XX is the state abbreviation).
    • Click on the Save button.
    • When you pull up a template list the next time, you will see the three default templates and your new template name.
    • There is no limit to the number of templates that you can create and use.
