Updating your Comparative Rater:

1. If you are on a network, make sure that all workstations have exited the Comparative Rater including NetSpawn users.
2. Close all open quotes.
3. There are 2 ways to initiate the update process:
   • Go to the Tools menu and select Electronic Update.
   • Click on the icon on the toolbar that looks like a computer (between the file cabinet and the Mexican flag icons).
4. The Comparative Update Process screen will appear and automatically check for other users in the program in STEP 1.
5. STEP 2 requires you to make a selection, either to run a backup or not.  You must click on either Yes (which will take you to the Backup System screen to make a back up of your quote file) or No to bypass the backup option.
6. STEPS 3, 4  and 5 automatically communicates with ITC's update servers and does not require any selection from you.
7. Once the communication process has completed, a message will display in the middle of the screen.  It will state if there is a Core and/or companies available to update.
8. Click on the Update button.
9. The download of the updates will begin.
10. If there are only company updates available, it will install each module and then display a window with a list of companies that have updated.  Simply click OK after viewing.
11. When there is a Core update, the program will automatically close after the download to apply the update.  You may see an installation pause box after the download has completed.  This is to give the program time to close out before applying the update.  If it does appear, check your taskbar to verify the program has shut down (it should disappear from the taskbar).  Once the program is closed, click on OK to continue the installation process.
12. Once the installation process has completed, the program will start up and apply the company updates and then display a window with a list of companies that have updated.  Simply click OK after viewing.
