How do I restore data from a previous backup?

Answer / Solution

To restore from a backup:

NOTE: Restoring data will erase your current database and this process cannot be undone.

  1. From the Main Menu screen, click on the File menu and select Restore Data.
  2. You will see a message displayed:   RESTORING WILL OVERWRITE ALL CURRENT DATA!!! Are you sure you want to continue?
  3. Select the backup file that you wish to restore (file name will be ipdata.azp).
  4. You will then receive a message:  InsurancePro will now close to complete the Restoring process.  Please re-start InsurancePro when you receive the message to do so.  PLEASE MAKE SURE NO ONE IS USING INSURANCEPRO SOFTWARE ON THE NETWORK! Press OK when you are ready...
  5. An Unzip File box will come up with options for where and how to unzip the backup:
    • First select where you want to restore the backup (this will be the path where you are currently running InsurancePro from).
    • You can choose to unzip all files or unzip selected files
    • Lastly, you can choose whether you want to overwrite existing files.
  6. When you receive the mesage that the database has be restored, click on OK  and restart InsurancePro.
